I organize watercolor workshops in Southeast Alaska. The next workshop is going to be a fascinating traveling tour of Southeast Alaska visiting out of the way places with Chinese- American watercolorist Lian Zhen. It will occur in May of 2012. My mediums of choice are watercolors and pen and ink. I offer original works.prints, and commissions are available.
My day job is commerical fishing. I've spent 30 years salmon trolling on the outer waters of SE Alaska with my husband and two daughters who have grown up on the boat and now have their own. As I travel the Alaska coastline, I sketch and paint in my spare time. I grew up on the coast of Washington immersed in art and the quiet of that space between the land and water. Sitka was a natural extension of my childhood. We built a home on an island outside of Sitka, homeschooling our daughters and spending time enjoying the drama of the ocean. I studied art at WWU and have taken numerous watercolor workshops including a 3 week painting trip through China with Lian Zhen in 2008.
